Elements

Something is missing.
I don't know exactly what.

It's not just my hair, no.
Yes, I gave myself a haircut.

But that wasn't the point, no.
I forgot what the point of this post was.

Anyway.
I feel like being a teacher is the coolest thing ever.
And I want to go back to Karachi and be a teacher again.

A teacher without a school to teach at is still a teacher, right?

It's like you're part of something so much more.
Teaching all those kids, sending the good ones in the right direction and the bad ones in detention was.. so, so, so special.

And I want to do it all over again.
Though I should be careful what I wish for.
Since engineering is like.. you know that movie, Three Idiots, where the guy goes, I'm about to sign a contract with the greatest engineer, and this other guy teaches in a school, A for apple.

I love teaching. And I really, really, want to change my major to teaching.
Should I?

365 Day Project, Day 26

My old camera. Not that old, it's just like a year old. But it got dropped in water by someone and I took it apart to try to find out what was wrong with it once it had dried. It lost a part when it got dropped in water, so now I have a new camera. Exact same model, but yeah.

Thoughts before I sleep & 365 Day Project, Day 25

People have told me that I have really high expectations and standards for myself. By that they mean that I feel like I should get an A on everything. And that's really how I am. When I cook, I am happy only if I cooked it right. Even if the fish is a little soft or anything like that, I don't like it. When I write, it has to be something that people like.

Yes, I know I'm not perfect. Yes, I make mistakes. But with me, making a mistake while interacting with someone else is worse than anything else that I can do. Whether it was an honest mistake or intentionally annoying a friend-Greg knows what I mean by annoying-I feel.. Bad.. No, terrible.. Not even terrible, just horribly bad about it. And I go over what I said or did before I sleep and I don't forgive myself. It's not like I go like oh hey you're an idiot or something, no. It's more like, you should do better. You are better. And my own disappointment is worse than anything else. It's the only time I feel sad now. And going to sleep feeling sad is not a good feeling.

I used to have so many commentators on my blog. I feel like they're not there anymore because I'm not as good as I should be.

Maybe that's why I want to help people so badly. Like giving back to the general equation is atonement. that's actually a thought I haven't had before..

I took a lot of pictures today. This one had the most vibrant colors, though.

365 Day Project, Day 24

I got really bored of reading and being online and looking for new music. So I went back to the simplest origami I know. Ships/Boats.

About Today. And 365 Day Project, Day.. 23

I've crossed 60,000 page views.
Makes me feel good.

I've made a bunch of mistakes along the way. I've moved across continents. I've gained weight, too. (Yes, that was supposed to make you laugh). I'm losing that weight, by the way.

But I was watching Warrior today. I've seen the brothers' fight before, but at that time I only cared about the song that was playing and trying to find out what song that was. It's 'About Today' by The National, if anyone wants to know.

I don't know what I'm going to do in life. Only God knows. It still takes time to forgive oneself for every mistake made along the way. And for me, a mistake is made when someone else is hurt or badly affected by something I did. And living with that is not easy, especially not when all you want to do is help other people. When you don't care about you, but you believe that you're here to make it better for someone else. Whoever else that person may be.

This is all just really random. Like the way I used to be. The way I liked to be.

I wanted to say one thing after watching Warrior. That guy may never hear it to read it, but I'm still going to say it. You damn well better take care of her. Cause now it's your responsibility and you better be around for her forever.

That said, here's today's picture. It's at sunset, yes. The very last rays of the sun on this side of the planet.
I love the picture since you can see the purple/pink part of the rays too.

365 Day Project, Day 22

Feels so awesome to stand in the sun after a few cloudy days. And it being so cold that some of the snow/ice still hasn't melted.

365 Day Project, Day 21

My roommate and his friend were cooking in the friend's apartment upstairs. Either they can't cook or they did something wrong, but the fire alarm went off and we all had to rush out.
I was annoyed because I was asleep when it happened, and it's NOT a pleasant feeling to be woken up by a fire alarm.
And to add to it all, I forgot my camera inside. So I had to wait till the three fire trucks went back and the fire chief let us in before I could take a picture from my window.

365 Day Project, Day 20

Missing Karachi, so made a list of the stuff I miss most about the city.
And yes, 12 out of the 20 things are places to eat/food.
